Garage Sale

Today my friend and I had a garage sale at my house. It was a great success and about have of our crap was sold. Two really funny things happened and one jerky.

1 - Funny - About three months ago a basketball was sitting in our front lawn when the husband came home from work. Since we have many little boys on our street he put it by the curb for them to get back. The next day, it was in our lawn again. He decided to bring it into our garage. Today, we priced it for $.50. The neighbor kid came over and was very excited by the cheap price of the basketball and purchased it. We had a big laugh over it since it might have been his ball anyway. That would have taught him a lesson to be more careful with his toys if we had told him.

2 - Funny - My husband has a lot of left over giveaways from his last employer. One thing that we have a ton of are letter openers. The last two garage sales that we have had we gave them away for free with purchase. No one wanted them. Today, the husband put $.10 each on them. I think we sold at least $5.00 worth of them. I guess if you put a value to them people want them.

3 - Jerky - The last garage sale that I had a lady came and looked at my stuff for about 40 minutes then talked me down to $.10 for an item that I had priced for $.25. Then gilted me into letting her use my bathroom. She then came back two more times and didn't buy anything.
Today when she showed up, I almost said 'No, get back into your car', but I didn't. She decided to try to talk my friend out of most of her nice work outfits for $1.00. I refused to deal with her. Today she only came back twice.

All in all good day, I made about $200.00!
