Aliens Coming Out of Our Walls

Over the weekend we had two very strange things happen at our house. On Saturday, the husband swore that he felt the house move. I didn't feel anything, but I believed him. Saturday night we stood outside in the freezing weather to see the spy satellite go up. We saw nothing.

The next morning we saw this on the wall:

Now as far as we know the crack was not there recently. It's in our living room which we, well, live in. I think we would have noticed it.

After we saw the crack, Husband went looking around the house for any other cracks. He didn't find any other cracks, but he found this:

No, it is not an alien antenna coming out of our wall but a wire. A very thin wire that somehow made its self through the drywall. Now this is in our bedroom above our dresser. Since we personally painted every inch of these walls ourselves we would have noticed a wire sticking out of the wall. What caused this to happen? We even checked to see if there were any earthquakes on Saturday and there were none in Florida.

Our house is 20 years old. You would think that it had settled by now?
