We had our first baby class last night. I found it pretty good. It was to discuss the health and care of our baby. They had a doctor and a dentist there. The doctor was very laid back and rambled a little bit. Simon wrote, "He sounds like C.D." on our paperwork.
The pictures that the dentist showed have completely freaked me out, and we will be doing everything to make sure his teeth are perfect.
So, I didn't think that I wanted to take the Lamaze classes since I'm getting the drugs, but a few people told me that I still need to know how to push. Vote to the side to tell me what you would do? - Thanks! :)

The Lamaze class that I took taught you how to breathe during the contractions before they give you the drugs. They won't give you the drugs until you are at least 3 cm and you will be having contractions for possibly hours before you get to 3 cm. The class also explains the 3 stages of labor and the proper way to push.

As I told you, I would recommend it not just to learn about labor, but for SIMON to learn about labor and delivery among other things. By going it gives HIM a way to participate and perhaps clue him in on some things you wouldn't think to tell him. GO! It won't hurt! :)
Hi I found your blog via Erin's. Congrats! I too make it a daily occurance to search Craig's List. We also have mom to mom sales here in MICH which are awesome! Kind of like a cross between rummage/garage sales but good stuff.
The lamaze help does help you learn to relax and labor positions and the such. They are quite anti-pain med, but I just ignored that part. :)
