Sleeping for most of my life has been on my back. When I was little I enjoyed sleeping on my stomach, but around middle school some appendages on my front made it hard to sleep belly-down. I then learned to sleep on my back. So for years it has been the back or nothing for me. Now I'm told that I have to sleep on my side.
Curses - even with the body pillow it is so hard for me. The body pillow ends up everywhere on the bed. Most of the time not were I really need it. The other night I woke up to find that I was hugging it like a teddy bear - of course while I was lying on my back.
Ladies - how do I force myself to sleep on my side?

I'd say don't fret too much about it. Your body moves naturally in the night when you are sleeping and you can't control this. By the time the baby is bigger you most likely won't roll onto your back because that will be too uncomfortable and if you do, it'll probably wake you up and you can then shift. For me, a pillow between my knees and a pillow pushed against my back worked great. And if you can believe it....to this day, this is now the most comfortable position for me to sleep in...as if there are two wee-ones laying in there next to me. Strange, I know!...(but oh so comfy!).
